ImpactCity Startup Lab

For startups from all over Europe to explore the Dutch startup ecosystem and see what we are working on here in The Hague

Economic success goes hand in hand with social impact. Or it can anyway – and it should. We call it the “impact economy”. It’s an economy that has an enormous potential to grow – and create beautiful things that benefit all of us. That’s why the city is investing in people, places, experiments, and ideas.

The goal of this lab is twofold. It’s for founders of impact startups to explore the possibilities of the international community in The Hague and access new market opportunities. It’s for humanitarian organisations to explore the added value of innovative tech startups. So you must have guessed it by now, we are looking for a match.

Three Wolves, A Monkey, and a Dung Beetle Walk into a Hackathon

Hackathons are an incredible medium for creating new ideas, new friends, and finding out about yourself. As a semi non-technical person (i.e. I don’t code, at least not yet) I’ve always looked at hackathons with a sense of awe, as an unapproachable event that I always wanted to participate in. Well, I finally got my chance and it was an absolute blast!

What was the hackathon all about?

The co-working space as a platform for a token economy

Tokens can become a reward for those that contribute to the community. A community member can earn or sell within the ecosystem when interacting with the community ecosystem (as in: the wider network) or within the co-working space.
