Hackathon for Good

The Hague is the international city of Peace & Justice and is working towards a better world.

The Hackathon for Good is the program through which teams from all over the world, using data and the ethical use of AI, develop innovative solutions for societal issues. We are convinced that the use of technologies such as big data and AI offers great opportunities, provided that the right careful ethical considerations regarding privacy, ownership, and free choice are made. For the hackathon, we collaborate with local, national, and international organizations to introduce challenges, unlock data and technology, and recruit teams.

Our mission is to connect data and AI savvy innovators with transition leaders to accelerate purpose-driven innovation by governments, NGOs, universities, and businesses. We help them prototype with data and AI. By providing access to data, tools, challenges, team members, training, and mentoring.

Hackathon for Good is an open invitation to anyone with a hacker mindset and the passion to

work on data and AI for impact. We are curious about the possibilities of new technologies. We

want to apply them for good. To solve things that truly matter. All across the world.

Through the past 7 editions of the Hackathon for Good, we were able to connect The Hague's

innovation ecosystem with organizations facing innovation challenges. The Hague, as a city, has

an impressive ecosystem of organizations and companies involved in developing and facilitating

technological innovation. This ecosystem is further supported by a local knowledge

infrastructure. The Hackathon for Good has once again brought these two worlds together,

resulting in relevant and applicable solutions.
