The Hague, Netherlands — European cloud platform provider Codesphere has established its first Dutch office at The Hague Tech, selecting The Hague as its base for further growth in the Netherlands. The move is part of the company's wider European expansion strategy and further strengthens The Hague Tech's growing GovTech community.
Codesphere expands its European presence with a Dutch office
Headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany, Codesphere has developed a sovereign virtual cloud platform that enables organizations to build, deploy, and manage applications while retaining full control over their infrastructure and data. Rather than replacing existing infrastructure, the platform provides a software layer that delivers complete cloud functionality across public cloud, private infrastructure, and hybrid environments.
The company has already secured multiple public-sector contracts in Germany and is now expanding its presence into the Netherlands. From its new office at The Hague Tech, Codesphere will work with Dutch governments, public organizations, and enterprises looking for secure and sovereign cloud solutions.

"We're pleased that Codesphere has chosen The Hague Tech as its home in the Netherlands," says Edwin Beeker, Managing Director of The Hague Tech. "The Hague has developed into a strong environment for organizations working at the intersection of government and technology. Codesphere brings valuable expertise in digital sovereignty and cloud infrastructure, making them a great addition to our community."
Founded in Germany, Codesphere combines cloud development, testing, deployment, and hosting in a single platform, reducing operational complexity while giving developers and organizations greater control over where applications run. The platform supports traditional cloud applications, AI workloads, and hybrid infrastructure, making it suitable for organizations with high security and compliance requirements.
"The Netherlands is an important step in our European growth strategy," says Rendel Hijlkema, Country Manager Netherlands at Codesphere. "The Hague brings together government, technology, and international collaboration in a unique way. Establishing our Dutch office at The Hague Tech allows us to become part of a community that shares our ambition to build secure, sovereign digital infrastructure for Europe."
Strengthening The Hague Tech's GovTech / European ecosystem
The arrival of Codesphere reflects the continued growth of The Hague Tech as a meeting place for GovTech companies, startups, scaleups, researchers, and public organizations. "It's great to welcome another international GovTech company to our community," says Olga Wielders, Director Programs at The Hague Tech. "Codesphere brings expertise that's highly relevant for governments working on secure and sovereign digital infrastructure. Just as importantly, their arrival creates new opportunities for collaboration. We can help them build the right connections in the Netherlands, while opening new doors for Dutch GovTech companies looking towards Germany. That's exactly the kind of cross-border collaboration we want to encourage at The Hague Tech."
With companies working across AI, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, GovTech, and emerging technologies, The Hague Tech continues to grow as a hub where organizations can connect, collaborate, and develop solutions for the challenges facing governments and society.
