The Hague Tech (THT), formerly located in the old Ministry of Social Affairs building on Laan van NOI, will officially open its new location on June 19, now based on Waldorpstraat. The new site features a high-end congress centre specifically designed to support the growth of tech startups and foster collaboration. “The ambitions are big, but this is the place to focus on every area of innovation,” says Managing Director Edwin Beeker.
With this move, The Hague Tech is reinforcing its ambition to become the national hub for GovTechNL, a role closely aligned with The Hague’s own technological and societal goals. “What the Zuidas is for finance, the Central Innovation District (CID) can be for impact and technology,” Edwin Beeker explains. “With this location, we aim to become the intersection where government, startups, scale-ups, and tech companies come together and collaborate in a meaningful, structured way.”

From meeting point to innovation accelerator
The move to the Stationspostgebouw, located right next to The Hague Hollands Spoor station, took place earlier this year. It marks a new phase for The Hague Tech, which has spent years building a strong network of tech-driven entrepreneurs, knowledge institutions, and public sector organizations.
The new location is more than just a workplace. It includes a fully equipped congress centre with room for over 300 visitors, 10+ custom-designed breakout rooms, and state-of-the-art audiovisual facilities. These spaces are meant to host innovation dialogues, policy development sessions, and cross-sector collaboration.
The Hague as the birthplace of GovTechNL 2.0
In partnership with organizations like Digicampus (also based at The Hague Tech) and the municipality of The Hague, THT is contributing to the next phase of GovTechNL: A renewed ecosystem where governments and tech companies work closely together to develop digital solutions for public challenges. The strategic location in the CID plays a key role, and the municipality actively supports this movement.
“The Hague is the international city of peace and justice, but increasingly also the city of security and innovation,” says alderman Saskia Bruines. “The Hague Tech perfectly aligns with our ambition to build a connected innovation ecosystem.”

A Platform where innovation grows
The Hague Tech is a community-driven platform that facilitates collaboration between companies, governments, and knowledge partners. Some recent success stories include:
Prospero, an app developed to solve scheduling challenges in theatre production, is now used by multiple members of the community, including The Hague Tech itself to manage and run events in the congress centre.
AppSignal secured a $22 million investment with the help of financial consultancy Nexyz. Both companies started out as “office neighbours” within the THT community.
Holland Park Media, founded by two members who met at The Hague Tech, now provides production and marketing services to multiple companies, including THT.
